Thirty-three novels. Thirty million copies sold. Edgar Award winner. Number 1 New York Times bestselling author.

Since giving up her career as a lawyer for writing after the birth of her daughter, Lisa Scottoline has turned out a steady stream of thrillers that have topped bestseller lists with down-to-earth, wisecracking characters instantly familiar as our friends and neighbors. And once that daughter grew into adulthood, the two of them started writing the “Chick Wit” column for the Philadelphia Inquirer, clever takes on life from a woman’s perspective that have been collected into another bestselling series.

Lisa joins us upon the release both of the paperback edition of her first work of historical fiction, Eternal, a tale of loyalty and loss, family and food, love and war set in Rome during the rise of fascism and Nazism, and her latest thriller, What Happened to the Bennetts, the heart-pounding story of a suburban dad forced to choose between justice and the law.

About the Series:

Temple Emanu-El’s Stettenheim Library is proud to present its fifth edition of Women on the Move, a virtual series with prominent female authors whose work addresses the currents women navigate through the often-treacherous waters of family, friendship and the intricacies of power. Join us for revealing conversations about those dilemmas, the challenges of writing and how the authors respond to the changing voices of women who refuse to settle.

The series is moderated by Zibby Owens, writer and creator of Moms Don’t Have Time to Read Books, one of Oprah Magazine’s favorite book podcasts; journalist Jordana Horn, cohost of the Call Your Mother podcast and contributing editor at Kveller; and Marjorie Shuster, Coordinator of Literary Events at Temple Emanu-El.
